Summary of the talk
The talk “Innovation in Professional Services” will discuss how professional services is facing digital disruption. Professional services such as accountants, lawyers, and consultants are facing massive change. In accounting, it has been reported that 66% of SME’s would replace services their accountant provides with cloud software.
Many of the services they provide are being now being automated and outsourced. This disruption is also happening in many other industries too – taxi, accommodation and financial services. In addition, online marketplaces are disrupting the market by connecting buyers and sellers of services. Service providers need to figure out how to provide a higher value add in their offering to survive.
The talk will discuss how to implement innovation in a business. It includes models of corporate innovation and the latest thinking in innovation. There will also be case studies presented of how businesses implemented innovation. The speaker, Matthew Ho will combine his experience in professional services, technology startups and online marketing to provide a unique perspective for this talk.

Great to work with 3 organisations I like for my talk on Innovation In Professional Services. Here’s some more details about these organisations.
1. Online Marketing Meetup
I have attended this meetup previously as an attendee. They run high quality advanced online marketing talks from content marketing, mobile to social media. I’ve also previously spoken at their Advanced Online Marketing training conference. The organisers James Norquay (Prosperity Media) and Pieter Verasdonck (SalesCycle) have dedicated a lot of time to build this meetup which now has 1,800 members.
2. Tyro FinTech Hub
I previously wrote about my visit here to Tyro. Its a new co-working space for Financial Technology startups.
3. Code Camp
I would like to donate 100% of the event proceeds to Code Camp. This is a private organisation that teaches school kids how to create mobile apps. It is run by Pete Neill and Ben Levi, based at Fishburners. The money will be used to create a scholarship for one student to attend the Ultimo School Camp. The scholarship is provided to allow all students with the same opportunity to attend and to learn mobile apps.
I would like to support this organisation because I have created a lot of apps and to support my local community in Ultimo. I have a strong association with Ultimo through UTS (University of Technology Sydney), Fishburners and as a member of the Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce. I also personally know the founders of CodeCamp and will be attending one of their camps to see how it operates.
